Hameed
Shaqq, The Pan Piper, honed his innovative steel pan performance
and composition skills in his native Trinidad, playing in
numerous bands including the award winning Coca Cola Silver
Stars, the Shell Invaders and Solo Harmonites.
In the
1970's he toured Europe the Caribbean and the US with the
Solo Harmonies thrilling audiences at such events as the
Zurich World Fair in 1972 and the Music Festival in Spain
in 1975.
In
Canada Shaqq has taught in schools and played with numerous
bands. His recordings and feature film and TV appearances
have featured solo pan and mixed instrument arrangements.
His impressive repertoire includes jazz, blues, classical,
pop, calypso and liturgical music.
His
lively interactive one-man show wins rave reviews whether
he is center stage or as a background performer.
